Weather Synopsis

Skies cleared up a bit more than expected today, and as a result high temperatures were slightly warmer than forecast, this was especially true in Duluth (away from Lake Superior) with a high of 71 degrees today at the Airport.  Elsewhere across the Northland highs were generally in the 60s to around 70 but temperatures were cooler closer to Lake Superior (40s and 50s) although the lake wind today was much lighter compared to the past few days.

*A cold front northwest of our area early this evening will slowly move S/SE and into the Northland Wednesday before it pushes off to our S/SE Thursday.  Little or no rain with this frontal boundary but there will be some clouds at times tonight and Wednesday.  There will be a greater chance for rain across southern Minnesota, central and southern Wisconsin Wednesday thanks to a low pressure system which will track E/NE out of the central Rockies during the next 24 hours.

Lows tonight will be in the 40s but 30s are possible in the traditional cold spots.  Highs Wednesday in the 60s to around 70 degrees.  Turns a bit cooler Thursday with highs in the mid 50s to low 60s.

Forecast for Duluth and Superior

.Tonight...  Partly cloudy.  Low 42 to 47.  Wind west at 5 to 15 mph.  East wind near Lake Superior gradually shifting to the west.
