A much warmer day but not the sunniest of days thanks to an upper level low and surface trough which moved into the Northland -- Not much moisture with this feature but there was some instability, and this combined with colder temperatures aloft helped to trigger scattered showers along with a few thunderstorms in parts of the area today. Highs today were mainly in the 60s except for cooler temps along the North Shore and also in locations that had rain showers.
Will have lingering scattered showers and a few thunderstorms in the Northland this evening. None of these storms will be severe but they could produce brief heavy downpours, wind gusts to 30 mph and small hail along with occasional lightning. Partly to mostly cloudy skies tonight with lows in the 30s to lower 40s.
A few showers could redevelop Thursday PM in far northeast Minnesota but coverage should be less than what we had today, otherwise partly to mostly sunny skies for Thursday with highs in the 60s except near Lake Superior where highs will be in the 50s.
Forecast for Duluth and Superior
