Winds gusted to nearly 50 mph today in Duluth (Gusty winds continue through Tue) Highs in the 30s and 40s for Monday

/Issued 4:40 PM CST, Sunday, February 12, 2017/

The jet stream will become more amplified later this week with troughs on both coasts while a huge ridge covers the Plains, upper Midwest and western Great Lakes.

Note:  I still think there is a chance that Duluth records its first 50 degree temperature of 2017 on Saturday the 18th.  At the very least will likely soar well into the 40s the way it looks now.  The average date for the first 50 degree temperature at Duluth, Minnesota is March 18th! Last year, the first 50 degree temperature occurred on February 27th.

Generally partly cloudy skies are expected through Tuesday but periods of mostly cloudy sky conditions are possible in some parts of the area.  A few flurries or light snow showers could develop late Monday night or Tuesday but little to no accumulation is expected.

Lows tonight will be in the teens and 20s.  Highs on Monday in the 30s to lower 40s.  Lows Monday night in the 20s.  Highs on Tuesday in the upper 20s to middle 30s.
