If you're a fan of colder temperatures you wanna see more blue colors instead of red/pink colors on the image below. No real surprise that November looks like it'll open on a warmer than average note over the northern Plains and Upper Midwest, this has been a consistent signal showing up per long range model guidance. What happens mid to late November remains to be seen but there are indications that a slow pattern change to colder and possibly snowier weather could occur, but until then the mild Fall of 2016 continues.
Friday has potential to be a warm day across much of Minnesota and also across a large portion of the central Plains. Temperatures shown on the image below would be well above average for October 28th.

Weather Summary for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin
A gray and cool late October day. High temperatures were in the upper 30s to low/mid 40s with easterly winds at 5 to 15 mph but gusts over 20 mph continued today near Lake Superior. Low pressure averaging 1016mb was moving into far western Illinois as of 3 PM -- This system brought widespread light to moderate rain to east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin today while drizzle and a lighter rainfall occurred farther north.

Tonight (October 26)
Low pressure will track out of western Illinois and will move into far northern Ohio by daybreak. Light rain and drizzle will linger over parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin especially this evening. Mostly cloudy skies tonight with patchy fog possible. Lows will be in the 30s to around 40 degrees with winds out of the east or south at 5 to 15 mph.
Thursday (October 27)
High pressure will be in control of our weather on Thursday as today's low pressure system heads into the northeast U.S. while the next one heads into the northern Plains. Partial sun to mostly cloudy skies are expected Thursday with highs in the 40s to around 50 degrees. Partly to mostly cloudy Thursday night with lows in the upper 30s and 40s. Winds will be out of the south or southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Friday (October 28)
An area of low pressure is forecast to move E/NE out of the northern Plains and through the Upper Midwest on Friday. A few rain showers are possible as this low moves through with the best chance for showers occurring over northern Minnesota the way it looks now. Highs on Friday are forecast to be in the 50s and 60s with cooler temperatures along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Lows Friday night will be in the 40s to lower 50s.
Saturday (October 29)
Mainly dry as low pressure exits off to the E/NE. Highs on Saturday will be in the 40s and 50s.
Note: Another area of low pressure is expected to pass through the Upper Midwest on Halloween (31st) Scattered rain showers and perhaps even an isolated thunderstorm will be possible with that system.
