Weather Summary for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin
Low pressure was approaching from the southwest today. Partly to mostly sunny skies this morning gave way to increasing cloudiness during the afternoon over all but far northeast Minnesota and eastern portions of northwest Wisconsin. Highs today were in the mid 60s to around 70 degrees with a south or southeast wind at 5 to 15 mph.
Rain has been moving into western-southern portions of the Northland this afternoon with dry weather lingering elsewhere.

Tonight (September 15)
Low pressure will continue to move through the northern Plains tonight while a warm front lifts north out of southern Minnesota. Occasional rain across the area tonight with a few thunderstorms also possible. Lows will be in the 50s to lower 60s with south or southeast winds at 5 to 15 mph.
Friday (September 16)
An area of low pressure will move northeast out of western Minnesota while an upper level trough moves east into the Upper Midwest -- The combination of these features along with a cold front which will move through the Northland on Friday will lead to more rain chances. A few thunderstorms are also expected tomorrow and there's at least a low risk for a strong storm or two but severe weather is not expected. Highs will be in the 60s to lower 70s with lows in the 50s to around 60 degrees. Winds tomorrow will be out of the south, southwest or southeast at 10 to 15 mph. Winds tomorrow night will be out of the west or south at 5 to 15 mph.
Saturday (September 17)
Lingering rain showers are possible on Saturday as low pressure and upper level trough exits to the east. Highs on Saturday will be in the 60s to lower 70s with lows Saturday night in the 40s and 50s.
Sunday (September 18)
Nicer weather is expected as we close out the weekend. Mainly dry on Sunday with highs in the 70s except cooler along the North Shore of Lake Superior due to a southerly wind off the lake.
