How much snow Tonight? Here's one model's prediction -- this is the HopWRF model 18z run. Generally a half inch or less south of Highway 2, including the Twin Ports. Possibly 1-2" north of Highway 2, including the Iron Range, Arrowhead, and Borderland areas. In other words another wimpy snow event, but use caution on the roads as they may become snow covered and slippery in a few spots.

Weather Summary for February 23, 2015
Location: Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
Rapid changes in the weather are occurring Today as arctic high pressure exits to the south/southeast while low pressure approaches from Northwestern Ontario. Afternoon meso-analysis shows widespread 4-5mb/2 hour pressure falls across the Northland. 500mb heights have come up to 534-540 meters while 850mb temperatures have climbed into the -10C to -14C range. Were also seeing surface temperatures rise Today with late Afternoon temperatures in the single digits and teens with the coolest readings found in southern parts of Northwest Wisconsin, so the warming is coming in from the NW, something you don't see too often. Sky conditions ranged from partly to mostly cloudy Today. Radar has been showing some snow Today but very little has been reaching the ground. Winds Today were out of the southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts over 30 mph.
Short Term Forecast - Confidence: High.
Tonight (February 23)
A strong area of low pressure averaging 990mb will move into Northern Ontario Tonight. A warm front and cold front attached to this low will pass through the Northland. This system will bring a bit of snow to the area Tonight. Lows will range from the single digits to the lower 20s with southwest or west winds at 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to around 40 mph possible.
Tuesday and Tuesday Night (February 24)
Low pressure tracks into Eastern Canada during this period. A few snow showers or flurries are possible on Tuesday but I think most of the area will be dry Tomorrow and Tomorrow Night. Highs will be in the teens and 20s with lows in the single digits, teens, and 20s below. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts.
Extended Forecast - Confidence: High.
Wednesday through Friday (February 25-27)
Looks mainly dry from mid to late week. Highs are forecast to be in the single digits to low teens on Wednesday and mainly in the single digits for Thursday and Friday. Lows Wednesday Night and Thursday Night will be in the single digits, teens, and 20s below.
Long Range Forecast - Confidence: High.
(February 28-March 5)
Not a lot of change. Expect a continuation of below average temperatures with no major storms around here. Might get a light dusting of snow sometime Saturday Night/Sunday (28th-1st) but this doesn't look like a real big deal at this point.
