*WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY*

Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 7 AM CDT Sunday until 1 PM CDT Monday for parts of Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.  Counties included in the advisory are:  Southern St. Louis MN...Carlton MN...Douglas WI...Bayfield WI...Ashland WI...and Iron WI.  Some cities included in the advisory are:  Duluth MN...Floodwood MN...Cloquet MN...Cromwell MN...Moose Lake MN...Superior WI...Solon Springs WI...Port Wing WI...Bayfield WI...Cable WI...Ashland WI...Butternut WI...Upson WI...Hurley WI...Gile WI...and Montreal WI.

Impacts:  Snow will move in from the west-southwest between 2-5 AM Sunday, this band of snow will continue through mid-Morning Sunday.  After that time, expect additional rounds of snow into Monday which could become mixed with sleet, rain, or drizzle for Sunday Afternoon and early Sunday Evening.

*Heavy snow bursts possible between 4-10 AM Sunday with snowfall rates approaching 1" an hour.  Visibilities dropping to as low as one half mile at times.

*Areas of dense fog developing on Sunday, especially in the Twin Ports vicinity, and about 30-50 miles from Lake Superior.  The fog should burn off Sunday Evening as winds shift to the north.

*Total snowfall accumulations of 1-4" by Monday, with the bulk of the accumulation coming late Tonight through Sunday Morning.

*Roads could become snow covered and slippery, use caution and slow down if you have travel plans.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that accumulating will cause travel difficulties.  Be prepared for snow covered roads and reduced visibility and use caution if while driving.  Allow extra time to reach your destination.

*WINTER STORM WARNING*

Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 1 AM CDT Tonight until 7 AM CDT Monday for the following counties in Northern Minnesota:  Koochiching and Itasca.  Some cities included in the warning are:  International Falls MN...Northome MN...Bigfork MN...Togo MN...Grand Rapids MN...and Wawina MN.

Impacts:  Snow will move into Northern Minnesota after Midnight Tonight.  Snow is expected to continue on Sunday with occasional snow continuing Sunday Night and Monday.  The heaviest snow is expected to occur late Tonight through Sunday.

*Bursts of heavy snow possible Overnight Tonight through Sunday.  Snowfall rates could reach 1" an hour with visibilities as low as one half mile at times.

*Total snowfall accumulations of 4-8" are expected by Monday.

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means heavy snow accumulation is anticipated and that snowfall rates of one inch per hour or greater can be expected at times.  Expect snow and ice covered roads and reduced visibility less than a quarter mile.  If you must travel exercise extreme caution and allow extra time to reach your destination.  Let someone know your travel route and expected arrival time and have a working cell phone in case you become stranded.  Keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle including a flashlight, food, and water.  If you choose to travel be aware that you may become stranded and that it may take many hours for help to arrive.

Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 7 AM CDT Sunday until 1 PM CDT Monday for the following counties in Northeast Minnesota:  Northern and Central St. Louis...Lake...and Cook.  Some cities included in the warning are:  Crane Lake MN...Ely MN...Orr MN...Hibbing MN...Cotton MN...Knife River MN...Silver Bay MN...Finland MN...Isabella MN...Lutsen MN...Grand Marais MN...Hovland MN...and Grand Portage MN.

Impacts:  Snow will develop between 5-8 AM Sunday with snow continuing through the day.  Occasional snow is then expected to continue for Sunday Night and Monday.

*Heavy snow bursts on Sunday with snowfall rates approaching 1" an hour.  Visibilities as low as one half mile at times.

*Roads will become snow covered and slippery with difficult travel conditions.

*Total snowfall accumulations of 4-8" are expected by Monday with localized higher amounts possible in the  Higher Terrain along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

*WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY*

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 AM CDT Tonight until 7 AM CDT Monday for the following counties in Northcentral Minnesota:  Northern Cass and Northern Aitkin.  Some cities included in the advisory are:  Cass Lake MN...Walker MN...Backus MN...Hill City MN...and Palisade MN.

Impacts:  Snow will develop Overnight Tonight.  Snow could mix with or change to sleet or rain on Sunday.  Occasional light snow will continue Sunday Night and Monday.

*Heaviest snowfall is expected to occur late Tonight into Sunday Morning.  Snowfall rates could reach 1" an hour with visibilities as low as one half mile at times.

*Roads will become snow covered and slippery, use caution and slow down if you have travel plans.

*Total snowfall accumulations of 1-4" are expected by Monday.
