9/17/10: FALL FOLIAGE REPORT

Fall foliage reports will be issued each Friday Afternoon until past peak conditions occur.

In Northern Minnesota:

Northwest-western Koochiching and far western Cass counties: 25-50% color.
Indus, Manitou, Loman, Northome, Gemmell and Mizpah in Koochiching county including locations along and west of Highway 71 and Highway 11 are some locations that are seeing some nice color change per minnesota dnr.

The Walker and Hackensack areas in western Cass county are other spots that are seeing some nice color change at this time.

The remainder of Northeast and Eastcentral Minnesota are seeing 10-25% color change at this time with the exception being in the Twin Ports, down through Jay Cooke State Park and also in the southwestern portion of Crow Wing county where only 0-10% color change has been reported by the Minnesota DNR.

In Northwest Wisconsin:

Douglas county (Superior WI) 0-25% color change.

Burnett county (Grantsburg WI) 0-25% color change.

Washburn county (Birchwood WI and Spooner WI) 0-25% color change.

Bayfield county (Cable WI) 0-25% color change.

Sawyer county (Hayward WI) 0-25% color change. (Winter WI) 26-50% color change.

Ashland county (Ashland WI) 0-25% color change.

Iron county (Hurley WI and Mercer WI) 26-50% color change.

Price county (Park Falls WI and Phillips WI) 0-25% color change.

Note: Peak conditions for most of our local area should occur during the next 2-5 weeks.
