...SCATTERED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING...
*4:00 PM until 11:00 PM CDT.
*Damaging winds an excess of 60 mph

A cold front will settle south/east out of Northwest Minnesota This Afternoon and Tonight. A warm, moist, and unstable airmass was in place out ahead of this front and this should lead to the development of scattered showers and thunderstorms This Afternoon and Tonight across our area... A few of these storms could turn severe especially late This Afternoon and Evening thanks to strong winds in the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere along with some decent wind shear.
Although the majority of our area is under a Slight Risk for Severe Thunderstorms This Afternoon and Evening, it appears that the best chance for possible severe weather would be along and west of a line from International Falls and Hibbing through Duluth/Superior down through Cable, and Phillips in Northwest Wisconsin. Other Cities that could be impacted are: Northome MN...Bigfork MN...Grand Rapids MN...Walker MN...Cass Lake MN...Backus MN...Brainerd MN...Hill City MN...Aitkin MN...McGrath MN...Pine City MN...Hinckley MN...Moose Lake MN...Cromwell MN...Cloquet MN...Grantsburg WI...Siren WI...Port Wing WI...Minong WI...Spooner WI...And Hayward.
