Weather Synopsis for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin

A chilly start to February with temperatures this afternoon in the single digits and teens.  Quite a bit of sunshine covered the Northland today but an area of clouds has been spreading east into northern portions of Minnesota late this afternoon.

High pressure will be over the northern Plains through Thursday night, this high will then slide to the east/southeast on Friday.  Generally dry weather for the Northland through Friday with clear to partly cloudy skies for the most part, but some periods of cloudier skies are expected.

Low temperatures tonight and Thursday night will be in the single digits below to single digits above zero but teens below are likely in parts of the area.  Highs Thursday will be in the single digits and teens with highs Friday in the teens to around 20 degrees.

Still looking at a chance for some snow on Saturday as a low pressure system heads east into the upper Midwest -- Snow totals should generally range from a half inch to two inches at most the way it looks now.

Another chance for some snow for next Monday-Tuesday, February 6-7.  This doesn't look like a big storm either with snow totals of a couple inches possible in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
