Weather Summary for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin
Another shot of arctic air invaded the Northland today behind last night's snow maker which as of this evening has moved well off to the east while arctic high pressure builds south/east out of the northern Plains. Highs today were in the single digits below to single digits above zero with some locations in northwest Wisconsin making it into the teens. Winds were out of the north or northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Lake effect snow has been affecting the South Shore of Lake Superior today while light system snow over other parts of the Northland ended before Noon today.

.Short Term Forecast...
Tonight through Sunday night (December 17-18)
Dry and frigid! Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected through tomorrow with partly or mostly cloudy skies Sunday night. Lows tonight will be in the teens and 20s below with maybe a few -30s in the typical cold spots. Highs on Sunday mainly in the single digits below zero with lows Sunday night in the single digits below to around 20 below zero. Winds out of the northwest tonight shifting to the south/southwest tomorrow afternoon/night. Wind speeds will generally be in the 5 to 15 mph range.
Note: Dangerously low wind chills ranging from 25 below to 45 below zero tonight and Sunday morning across the Northland.
Monday (December 19)
A warm front will pass through the area on Monday. A few snow showers or flurries are possible as this front swings through. Warming up with highs in the teens and 20s, lows Monday night will mainly be in the teens.
Tuesday (December 20)
Even warmer on Tuesday with highs in the mid 20s to lower 30s! A few snow showers and flurries are possible once again but no major accumulation is forecast either Monday or Tuesday.
