Weather Summary for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin

Well there weren't any record high temperatures or a top 3 warmest low/high temperature in our area today so it has turned cooler, but today's highs which were in the 40s is still around 5-8 degrees above average for November 11th.  Mainly sunny skies in the Northland this afternoon with winds out of the north, west or southwest at 5 to 15 mph with higher gusts earlier in the day.

.Short Term Forecast...

Tonight through Saturday night (November 11-12)

Generally clear and cool tonight with lows in the 20s and 30s with teens in the typical cold spots.

 Sunny to mostly sunny skies for Saturday followed by partly to mostly cloudy skies Saturday night.

 Highs on Saturday in the 40s and 50s, lows Saturday night in the 30s.

Winds will be out of the southwest through Saturday night at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20-30 mph on Saturday.

Looking at the big picture -- Not much going on, high pressure shifts southeast of the Upper Midwest tonight while another upper level ridge moves east-southeast out of the northern Rockies.

.Extended Forecast...

Sunday (November 13)

Dry on Sunday with highs in the 50s to around 60 degrees, lows Sunday night in the upper 30s and 40s.  A cold front is forecast to move through the Northland late on Sunday but with such a dry airmass in place no precipitation is expected.

Monday (November 14)

Mainly dry with highs in the 40s and 50s.

Note:  Another cold front moves through the area on Tuesday (15th)  This one could bring some rain showers to parts of the Northland on Tuesday.

.Tonight...  Clear.  Low 29 to 34.  Wind variable becoming southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

.Saturday...  Windy.  Mostly sunny.  High 50 to 55.  Wind southwest at 15 to 30 mph.  Note:  3rd warmest November 12th on record is 55 degrees in 1895.  2nd warmest is 56 degrees in 1987.  Warmest is 60 degrees in 1884.
