A pleasant end to the weekend. Partly to mostly sunny skies were found over the Northland today with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s which is near to around 5 degrees below average for late August. Winds were out of the west or northwest at 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight (August 21)
Warm air advection pattern develops as south winds develop on the backside of high pressure which moves into Illinois. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be found in the area tonight with a chance for a few showers late tonight mainly over the Borderland and Arrowhead of Minnesota. Lows will mainly be in the 50s but some locations might drop into the 40s late this evening. Winds will shift to the south or southwest at 5 to 15 mph.
Monday (August 22)
A few spotty showers early in the morning in far northern Minnesota otherwise partly to mostly sunny skies with high temperatures warming into the upper 70s and low-mid 80s with 70s along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Lows Monday night will be in the 50s and 60s under partly cloudy skies. Winds on Monday will be out of the south or southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
Tuesday and Wednesday (August 23-24)
Warm temperatures continue on Tuesday with highs mainly in the 80s. A cold front will move slowly east out of the northern Plains and is forecast to move through the Northland from late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Scattered showers or thunderstorms are possible as this front moves through the area Tuesday night with a chance for showers or thunderstorms on Wednesday mainly over parts of northwest Wisconsin and in the Arrowhead of Minnesota.
Highs on Wednesday should be in the 70s and 80s.
Lows Tuesday night are forecast to mainly be in the 60s with lows Wednesday night in the 50s and 60s.
Note: It will be turning a little more humid in coming days with dew points on Monday in the 50s and 60s -- Mainly in the 60s on Tuesday -- And in the 60s to lower 70s on Wednesday from eastern Minnesota into northwest Wisconsin with less humid conditions across northern Minnesota.
