A very nice early July day around the Northland under partly to mostly sunny skies -- Highs were in the 70s with winds out of the south, west or east at 5 to 15 mph.

Forecast Discussion for NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin

Confidence:  High.

Tonight through Sunday night (July 2-3)

High pressure will be over the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley while a warm front moves into the northern Plains.  Will have partly to sometimes mostly cloudy skies across the Northland through tomorrow night.  Scattered showers could also occur at times mostly over northern sections of Minnesota.  Low temperatures tonight and Sunday night will be in the 50s to lower 60s but 40s are possible tonight in the typical cold spots.  Highs on Sunday will be in the 70s to lower 80s.  Winds will be out of the south at 10 to 15 mph.

Fourth of July (Monday)

Looks pretty nice at the moment with south or southwest winds and highs in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 60s to around 70 degrees.  A few showers or thunderstorms can't be ruled out on Monday mainly in northern Minnesota but overall it looks dry in most of the Northland.

For Duluth and Superior for firework festivities Monday evening:

***Temperatures should be in the 70s with south-southwest winds at 10 to 20 mph.  Rain chance near zero percent the way it looks now***
