Date:  March 17, 2016

Low pressure has moved into Eastern Canada today but a mid/upper level low and trough remained over the Upper Midwest while an upper level ridge begins to build south out of Manitoba and Ontario Provinces.  Skies were generally overcast today with lingering snow showers and flurries affecting parts of the area, there was also some patchy fog in spots.  Highs ranged from the mid 20s to mid 30s with winds out of the north or east at 5 to 15 mph.

Short Term Forecast - Confidence:  High.

Tonight (March 17)

Mostly cloudy skies with some clearing possible mainly over Northern Minnesota.  Occasional snow showers and flurries will continue tonight in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin with some lake enhancement possible near Lake Superior.  Lows will be in the teens and 20s with single digits in far Northern Minnesota.  Winds will be out of the east or northeast at 5 to 15 mph.

Friday and Friday night (March 18)

High pressure will start to build into the Northland on Friday -- Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected with still a chance for lingering flurries or snow showers mainly near Lake Superior.  Highs will be in the 20s and 30s with lows in the single digits, teens and 20s.  Winds will be out of the east or northeast at 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday through Monday (March 19-21)

Generally dry from Saturday through Monday although some flurries or snow showers could occur on Sunday.  High temperatures are forecast to be in the 20s and 30s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with low temperatures Saturday night and Sunday night in the teens and 20s.
