Mild early February temperatures with highs in the 20s and lower 30s today - Partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies along with a few spotty flurries or light snow showers in parts of the area as a weak disturbance tracked into the Upper Midwest. Winds today were out of the south or southwest at 5 to 15 mph.

Short Term Forecast - Confidence: High.
Tonight (February 5)
Partly to mostly cloudy skies with a chance for a few snow showers or flurries as a weak area of low pressure and stationary frontal boundary remain over the Upper Midwest. Low temperatures will be in the single digits, teens to around 20 degrees as south or west winds continue at 5 to 15 mph.
Saturday and Saturday night (February 6)
An Alberta Clipper will drop SE out of Northwestern Canada on Saturday - This low should move over Southern Manitoba Province by early Sunday morning. Some warm advection snow is expected at times tomorrow and tomorrow night near a warm front which will be over Northern Minnesota, snowfall accumulations of around 1-2" are possible in far Northern Minnesota by late tomorrow night. The remainder of the Northland should remain mostly dry although a few snow showers or flurries can't be ruled out especially by Saturday night. Mild temperatures persist on Saturday with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Winds will be out of the south, southwest or southeast at 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday through Tuesday (February 7-9)
Snow chances will continue on Sunday and Monday as low pressure and an upper level trough dig S/SE through the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes - Mainly light snowfall amounts are expected with this system in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin with the exception being along the South Shore of Lake Superior where heavier lake effect snow showers are possible from late Sunday night through Tuesday as colder air and north winds blow across Lake Superior.
Highs on Sunday will be in the 20s and 30s with lows Sunday night ranging from the single digits below to single digits above zero across Northern Minnesota to the teens in Eastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.
Highs for Monday and Tuesday will be in the single digits and teens with lows Monday night in the single digits below to teens above zero.
Note: North winds will increase especially Monday and Tuesday - Wind gusts of 20 to as strong as 30 mph will be possible in parts of the Northland, this could cause areas of blowing and drifting snow along with bitterly cold wind chills.
