A few inches of snow is  possible Saturday night and Sunday in parts of the Upper Midwest.  Source, Weather Prediction Center.

Date:  February 11, 2016

High pressure was centered to our southeast while a new area of high pressure starts to build south/southeast out of Saskatchewan Province.  Partly to mostly cloudy skies in our area today with highs mainly in the teens.  Winds were out of the west or southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Short Term Forecast - Confidence:  High.

Tonight (February 11)

A cold front will move south out of Ontario Province tonight and will pass through most of the Northland by Friday morning.  Partly to mostly cloudy sky conditions will linger tonight with a chance for a few flurries.  Low temperatures will range from the teens below to single digits above zero with west winds turning more to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts.

Friday and Friday night (February 12)

Arctic high pressure averaging 1048mb will build southeast into the Upper Midwest on Friday - Partly cloudy skies are expected with highs in the single digits below to single digits above zero, lows will be in the teens, 20s and 30s below.  Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts.

Extended Forecast - Confidence:  Medium to High.

Saturday through Monday (February 13-15)

Dry and cold on Saturday with highs in the single digits below to single digits above zero, lows Saturday night will be in the teens below to single digits above zero.

A chance for some light snow on Sunday with lingering flurries or snow showers possible on Monday.  Warmer air spreading into the Northland will be partially responsible in these snow chances later this weekend.  Not expecting much in the way of accumulations with this event, just minor/light snowfall amounts the way it looks now.

High temperatures on Sunday and Monday will be in the teens and 20s with lows Sunday night mainly in the teens.

Note:  Lake effect snow showers are possible Friday into Saturday morning along the South Shore of Lake Superior in Northwest Wisconsin as winds become northwest once again.  Lake effect snow showers could affect parts of the North Shore of Lake Superior Saturday night and Sunday as winds turn to the south.

Long Range Forecast - Confidence:  Medium.

(February 16-21)

Near to above average temperatures are expected during the long range.  No major storms showing up that would affect the Northland but a couple of light snow/mixed precipitation events are possible next week.
